TeamGOV, Inc. is seeking a dependable Janitorial Associate to help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment at the Nancy Pelosi Federal Building. The associate will work in assigned areas and follow contract specifications, site procedures, and the direction of the Site Manager.
A background check is required.
Qualifications
At least five years of janitorial or related experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass an extensive background check
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry items 15–20 feet
Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds to maneuver floor-care equipment
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and perform the physical duties of the position
Responsibilities
Vacuum carpeted areas and dust horizontal surfaces as scheduled
Collect trash and recyclables and take them to the appropriate containers on the loading dock
Clean restroom fixtures, toilets, urinals, mirrors, and floors; replenish restroom supplies
Remove food waste from break rooms before the end of the shift and check public restrooms
Perform scheduled high and low dusting and cleaning
Detail stairwells, including steps, landings, and handrails
Mop freight-elevator landings and break-room floors; clean elevator cars and tracks
Clean aluminum-can recycling containers and wash metal, glass, rubber, plastic, and other surfaces
Perform carpet extraction, floor scrubbing and waxing, and exterior window cleaning as assigned
Transport small equipment between departments and keep offices and building areas clean and orderly
Monitor work quality to ensure contract specifications are met
Track supplies and equipment and report inventory and material needs to the Lead Janitor or Manager
Communicate with the janitorial supervisor or manager about work, supply, and equipment needs
Protect the confidentiality of employee and customer information encountered on the job
Participate in training to maintain and improve job skills
